Course Description:
This course will provide an overview of geriatric exercise principles.  Exercises for common syndromes will be explored including those that work toward restoring vitality, strength, and balance in the elderly client.  The therapeutic rationale for the effectiveness of exercise by progressively challenging the neuromuscular system will be explored (i.e. proprioception and motor response).   Participants will receive information that not only can be used in skilled treatment planning but also as as a component of program development within restorative or community based settings in both individual and group settings.
