Course Description 

This course will review Medicare Rules and Medicare Myths. We will use a humorous approach to increase participants understanding of frequently misunderstood Medicare guidelines. Participants will leave with an understanding of how Medicare Rules are developed, where they can be found, as well as the answers to questions that impact your service delivery including treatment requirements on a holiday, rules for group and concurrent therapy, the three day rule, the 8 minute rule, what is really required in a daily note, who can write a discharge note and many more. Bring your questions, we will provide answers and resources.

Learning Objectives: Participants will learn:

  • Understand how Medicare rules are developed
  • Identify on-line sources for Medicare rules
  • Discuss common misconceptions within Medicare Rules
  • Review current guidelines for documentation and service delivery
  • Plan out strategies to utilize to dispel and correct co-workers and administrators who may be using incorrect or out of date guidelines
